The 41st Annual Conference of the Indian Society for Medical Statistics, hosted by Mahatma Gandhi University from November 1 to 4, 2023, brought together over 300 professionals and scholars for a dynamic exploration of “Emerging Developments in Medical Statistics and Biostatistics in the Era of Data Science.” Organized by the School of Mathematics and Statistics and the School of Data Analytics, in collaboration with the Department of Statistics and the Department of Biostatistics at St. Thomas College Palai, the conference featured not only insightful preconference workshops on Bayesian Computing, MCMC Methods, and Data Analytics and Machine Learning for Clinical Research but also impactful paper presentations. These presentations, spanning traditional statistical methodologies to cutting-edge applications of data science in clinical research, added a depth of perspective to the discussions. With the integration of paper presentations, the conference emerged as a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange, fostering collaborative dialogues and advancing the field of medical statistics and biostatistics.
